Master Woodwork
One of the most distinctive and exclusive features of Riad Jamaïque is its exquisite woodwork, all of which has been hand-crafted by the talented local master woodworker, Mr Mouhcine.
Drawing on traditional Moroccan techniques passed down through generations, Mr Mouhcine has meticulously created the riad’s intricate cedar wood carvings, decorative panels, doors, ceilings, and architectural details.
Each piece reflects exceptional craftsmanship, patience, and attention to detail, showcasing the rich artistic heritage of Marrakech.
His work brings warmth, character, and authenticity to the riad, making every space a unique celebration of Moroccan artisan tradition.
Traditional Zouak Art
The vibrant colours and intricate decorative details throughout Riad Jamaïque are the work of the talented local Zouak master painter, Mr Mohammed.
Following the centuries-old Moroccan art of zouak, he has meticulously hand-painted every door, beam, ceiling detail, and exposed wooden surface within the riad.
Using traditional motifs, geometric patterns, and carefully selected colours, Mr Mohammed has transformed each wooden element into a unique work of art.
His exceptional craftsmanship preserves an important aspect of Morocco’s cultural heritage while creating the warm, elegant atmosphere that defines the riad.
Every brushstroke reflects his dedication, skill, and passion for this remarkable artisanal tradition.
We support local craftsmen whenever possible.
